Today in class we went over chapters seven and eight of the book Wild.  We also discussed what the American Dream was and also our personal dreams. We watched two videos where Cheryl Strayed  discussed not letting our dreams get in the way of our life

In class today we read an essay called The Myth of the Latin Woman: Just Met a Girl Named Maria.   I enjoyed reading this essay because it opened up my view on different stereotypes in society. While reading we also had to identify claims and find the evidence that supports the claim. After reading we wrote about stereotypes we often use and if society could live without them. I enjoyed every minute of today’s lesson.

Arguments

Today we discussed different outcomes of arguments. You succeed in an argument when you persuade your audience and that you win a fight when you dominate  the enemy.  In a argument you have to stimulate your audiences emotions, change its opinion and get it to act. After the lesson we put our skills to use to try to get Mr.Reese to change the temperature of the room, unfortunately we did not succeed.

WILD

Today in class we read the first chapter of the book Wild.   So far I really find the book interesting, although it is not a book I would have picked on my own.  We also talked about fate and actions, it was fate for the author to pick up the travel magazine which leads her to write the book.  I enjoyed class today.
