Today in class we discussed what it means to be a American and also what America stands for. I said that America stood for power, opportunity, and independences. 9/11 brought our country together in a time of need.
Today we discussed different outcomes of arguments. You succeed in an argument when you persuade your audience and that you win a fight when you dominate the enemy. In a argument you have to stimulate your audiences emotions, change its opinion and get it to act. After the lesson we put our skills to use to try to get Mr.Reese to change the temperature of the room, unfortunately we did not succeed.
Today in class we learned how to eliminate multiple choice answers. First, find the answer choice that you know is wrong, then find the answer that best fits the context of the story or question. We also read a story about a soldier and the time he killed someone.
Today in class we learned the rules for using commas. The most important rule I learned was that you use a comma to separate a series of words. This is a very important rule because it lets the reader know that you are listing different things. Class today was very eventful as usual and I enjoyed it.
